In the last few months a host of new (self-organized) art initiatives have sprung up all over the Amsterdam landscape, complimenting an array of pre-existing spaces that in the years past have effectively contributed to the cultural and experimental art scene of Amsterdam.
As a means for trying to incite discussion between these spaces, the Danish artist Alexander Krone held an open invitation dinner in September at The Outpost (the production and gallery space his runs in Amsterdam-West).
Following the success of the first dinner grew The Amsterdam Dinner Movement: a monthly gathering for Amsterdam’s art initiatives, to be hosted in a combined effort, by a variety of different spaces across the city.
The idea is to create an informal exchange, where practical knowledge can be shared, whilst creating awareness for the ideas and activities of the other spaces.
Goleb hosted an event on Sunday 23rd October 2011 with a dinner and a public concert. Kitchen Shebeen at W139 was the third gathering, followed by one at Berm in January 2012.

International Video Art Exhibition curated by Kisito Assangni.
Time is love Screening is an annual exhibition of projectable videos from an international selection of artists active around the world. The screening explicitly emphasizes the idea of love in these hard times and socio-cultural interference, the way in which technology and society give rise to new forms of artistic expression by using the new media.
The project aims to consider the work of these artists as part of the global phenomenon that is contemporary art, and asks the audience to reflect upon how the time that led to the production of these works was formed. Conceptually diverse, emotionally incisive and visually inventive, the selected works transform the most familiar video art into an illuminating investigation of contemporary culture.
